Episode 2 - Lena Willikens and Shanti Celeste

They say you should start the year with a bang, well we’re going to start with two.

We’ve booked two international acts to take centre stage in the Cool Room studio this January. They’re going to have us welcoming 2017 with bouncing bodies and racing pulses.

Hailing from Cologne, Lena Willikens brings to Cool Room her knack for whisking together, proto-techno, jacking house and industrial sounds. Appearing frequently on radio (Sentimental Flashback for Radio Cómeme) and at parties (Salon Des Amateurs where she curates Friday nights), this Friday she’ll make your mind and your body tingle.

Shanti Celeste is gonna give you a little taste of Bristol on Friday - the funky mechanics of electro and techno are set to resonate through the Cool Room studio. Shanti debunks the slashie name: she’s a bona fide DJ, vocalist, producer and radio host, and co-owns label BRSTL. Coming off the back of LTEC, Shanti will provide a soundtrack so undeniable you’ll be ~expressing~ yourself for the rest of 2017.

We’ve loved every moment we have spent with you all this last year, especially the moments on the dance floor. You never stop surprising us with your collective energy, ~respectfulness~ and dedication to the fine people and artists here in Melbourne and abroad. Pls bring the same attitude into 2017, and we’ll do everything we can to do the same.
